I got a site wide ban and all my alts were banned at the same time because I called someone who was shitting on Trans people “a disgusting piece of human garbage”. Apparently that was inciting hatred or violence and I can no longer make an account without it being banned within an hour or two.

This is like any matchmaking app genuinely attempting to match you with “the one” through AI, algorithms, science, etc so when you meet the perfect person you stop giving the app money.

I got lucky and married my fuck buddy that I met on Tinder. But that is not a good business plan. Why would OpenAI drive people to stop using their product.

Someone else in the comments said it perfectly. AI is just data regurgitation. It’s like calling me highly intelligent because I read you a paragraph from Wikipedia. I didn’t know anything. I just read a thing and said it out loud.

We’re anti-AI because AI is fucking stupid. Both literally and figuratively.

Right? I have a Google Home Mini in our kitchen and if we ask it a question it just pulls a source from a website and tells us. That’s it. Nothing intelligent about it.

AI now is no different. It’s just pulling more complex wording from more (albeit illegally) sources to give a (albeit sometimes incorrect) better description of the question asked.

AI is just as stupid as Alexa is/was 15 years ago. It just has more information to pull from and still fucks it up.

If it’s important enough, we’ll fact check. Or search for it ourselves. There’ve been plenty of times we’re having kitchen time together and we’re involved in a rather complex conversion. If we ask it something and it comes back with something that doesn’t sound quite right we’ll just search for it ourselves. It’s sometimes easier just to ask it because we don’t need to break our conversation together while it talks to us.

We basically just use it as a very quick, simple resource for basic information. Mostly “What’s the weather tomorrow?” or something like that.

It’s mostly used as a bluetooth speaker for our kitchen.

One of the only things I regret leaving my ex-fiance was our Brother Wifi Scanner/Printer. That thing was awesome.

I’ve had a Google Home mini in my house for about 7 years now. I love it for quick answers when my partner and I are talking, especially sports. Asking a quick “Hey Google, how many goals does Alex Tuch have” and it just says it quickly and we continue our conversation without really stopping.

But to actually get complex answers? Both my partner and I are highly intelligent people. We can find anything we need to. The last thing we’ll ever fucking do is even trust AI to get it right, let alone be the source of our information.

Shit, even my Google home has fucked up sports stats because AI is dumb as shit.
