Screensaver. Ran a test to confirm it by letting the screen go dark before it went to sleep. Turning off auto sleep didn’t do anything, the PC would just switch to screensaver and go to sleep like nothing changed.

Music piracy’s still alive here and there. The torrents I usually find are massive FLAC files that have very little advantage over much smaller MP3s though. I might need to buy some really fancy gear to appreciate it maybe.
The game runs fine but there’s a black screen. I might get a few frames actually rendered once every minute or so before it goes back to black. It usually only happens after I let the screensaver go on after each reboot.
Mint won’t properly display games with my RTX 3080 unless I reboot for some reason. There can still be issues but they might be fixable.
To be fair I kept buying models that cost $20 to $30 so maybe the higher end ones would last longer. That said, my Moondrops wired headphones cost the same but are way more reliable.
Step 2: Blow out your ear drums.
Same. I can’t find any Bluetooth headphones whose batteries don’t die in 4 or 5 months anyway. Meanwhile my Moondrop wired headphones have been going strong for almost 3 years.
The US really is different. In China, companies have to listen to the CCP lest it gets seized by the state and its owners disappeared. In the US the government listens to its corporate donors and now even rewards them with high ranking military positions.
You wouldn’t want to keep such old equipment connected to a network anyway. That’s only inviting trouble down the line.
Ubuntu sometime around 2010. It definitely wasn’t what I was looking for so I didn’t try another distro until 3 years ago. Linux Mint’s working well for me but I’m curious about Bazzite.
The first Switch still seemed like a good purchase because you could own the physical cartridge of a game so it’ll still be available long after its servers shut down. The Switch 2 just gives you a physical NFT with which to download the game with. Anyone who purchases this system will be very disappointed a few years later when it cuts off access to their library.
I like how Thompson’s portrait is greyed out.
Raid builds hurt financially up front but can save you from a lot of heartache later, even with larger disks.
It’s a 2m repeater in the LA area where the hams that go in don’t declare their call signs say racist things and talk shit to each other.
Sorry for the Reddit link but they’re better at explaining it:

I usually listen in on the 2m band because it’s fun hearing the crazy folks in W6NUT ramble on. It’s like a ham 4chan.
The only way to convince you this is wrong is if you get swatted and have your dog killed for barking too much in front of you while cuffed.
Their shit films are doing poorly at the box office. It must be due to piracy!
Manually transferred about 7TBs to my new Rpi4 powered NAS. It took a couple of days because I was lazy and transferred 15 GBs at a time which slowed down the speed for some reason. It could handle small sub 1 GB files in half a minute otherwise.
That sounds an awful lot like modifying an ESP32 script I’ve been trying to follow from a YouTube tutorial published a while back. Research hasn’t uncovered anything for me to troubleshoot the issue so it’s a really shit experience.
Wet socks can be more than a mild curse. That’s how trench foot became such a dangerous disease during WWI.
