Plasma is nuts, it’s customizability is wonderful. I just spent a few hours last week redoing my layout and theming with a gruvbox feel for my desktop system. I named the configuration gruvfox.
I used gnome for the longest time, but after discovering the true power of KDE I don’t think there is ever any going back for me.

Face recognition for what? To log in/unlock? For Vtubing? For head tracking? For a webcam application? For organizing photo files?
I’ve used powershell in previous jobs and if you learn it really well I cannot deny it is super powerful.
For a college project, a friend of mine somehow made a hexadecimal file dumper with it, with formatting and everything (think like what you would see in wireshark) in one, reasonably long, line of powershell.
However I’m just not a big fan of it personally for syntactical reasons (even with the syntax being super logical) and much prefer bash, or other unix-like native shells. I’ve been thinking about taking zsh for a spin recently to see what it’s like.
Id recommend mint, but ableton I have no idea. If you want to bite a different bullet if you go with linux, buy bitwig instead - its very, very much like ableton in the sense that you can map pretty much any parameter to any other parameter and I have enjoyed it a lot. super modern interface as well.
Got my HPE DL380 G9 networked and configured with hardware RAID 0 and Debian running under ProxMox for a test run (need more disks for RAID 5). Thing had an advanced iLo license intact from the previous owner.
Deployed a docker container of linkwarden to it to try out and it seems pretty nice.
Yea, I have to sit down and watch a few of their videos - I like that they went through the trouble to make a lot of video content for all of the features and uses as well, makes it really convenient to learn about passively.
Yea! I forgot it did that as well, but when that happened I had that same reaction of “holy crap, anything proprietary isn’t even close to being this good”.
Yea, when chess.com started limiting engine analyses to 1 per day I jumped ship to lichess and never looked back.
The craziest thing I discovered when I started using it was when I noticed that because my desktop was now connected to my phone and my phone was connected to my watch, I could completely control the media on both from my watch and the integration felt natural - but also something I haven’t seen work that well in the proprietary world.
Reading that readme was nuts. Others can start downloading your upload before you finish uploading as well, which probably makes for some novel real-time use cases.
I think you are right when it comes to re-installation of the packages themselves. What’s more annoying for me is re-applying all of the little tweaks and configurations for all of the ones that I actually do want or need.
Now that OP came back with ad hominem in several cases instead of any actual arguments for their stance, I have banned them in reference to instance rule 2 and community rules 1, 2, and 3. As I said to them before, I wouldn’t ban them for their opinion, but I will ban them for breaking the rules as set forth by the community.

People here might not agree with you, but as long as no one is pulling out any ad hominem and being mean to each other directly etc, then I really don’t have an issue with people expressing their opinions about what they think is good or bad about Firefox, as long as it has the potential to be constructive.
Thanks for the suggestion, I do find this to be annoying in other communities, but as you said it doesn’t seem to be a big issue here at present.
I intend to leave this post pinned for quite a while so that I can try to get a good idea of the general consensus of the community on the suggestions, so if it looks like most feel this is needed as time goes on then I would be glad to implement it.

If you switch DAWs, bitwig is really very good and runs natively on Linux.
